Trouble Joining Loving Life Alpine? Here’s How to Get Approved

Have You Been Rejected or Can’t Seem to Complete Your Request to Join the Loving Life Alpine Facebook Group?

You’re scrolling Facebook, looking for local happenings, and you stumble upon Loving Life Alpine. You think, “Yes! This is exactly what I need!” You click Join… and then… crickets. No approval. No access. Just radio silence. What gives?!

Or even worse you get rejected. Now being rejected, might not feel great, especially when this is your local community, but often it means nothing. Most of the time, the rejections are automatically made by Facebook, and the admins and moderators don’t even see them. It is nothing like your permanent record the administrators used to talk about when you were in school.

Let me assure you—this is not an exclusive country club. We want you to join! But we also want to keep out the bots, scammers, and mysterious “people” who joined Facebook last week and have no profile picture (yeah, we see you, TotallyNotAScammer123).

So, let’s break it down: Why aren’t you getting into the group, and how can you fix it?

Balancing Community & Spam Prevention

Loving Life Alpine is all about connecting with real neighbors, sharing local events, and building community. Unfortunately, the internet is filled with people who have less-than-pure intentions. So, we have to be a little picky about who we let in. Is our system perfect? Nope. But it’s what we’ve got for now. Here’s what we’re looking for when approving new members:

✅ Are You a Real Person?

We check to see if your profile looks like an actual human being and not just a shell account created to peddle “work-from-home” schemes or “free” sunglasses.

• Do you have a profile picture?
• Have you posted things that look like they were written by a human and not AI or a bot?
• Do you engage with other content like a normal social media user? Do real people engage with you?

✅ Do You Have Connections to Alpine?

Since this is a community group, we want members who are somehow tied to Alpine. That could mean:

• You live here
• You grew up here
• You work here
• You have family here
• You just really, really love Alpine and want to move

How do we check?

• Friends in the group
• Location tags or pictures from Alpine
• Connections to the area

🚩 Common Red Flags (a.k.a. Why You Got Rejected)

• No profile picture (Are you a bot? A ghost? A secret agent? We can’t tell.)
• Facebook account less than a year old (Facebook often auto-rejects these.)
• Zero public posts, pictures, or any indication that you’re a real person
• Trying to join as a business without registering on LovingLifeAlpine.com

We ask three simple questions when you request to join. If you don’t answer them, we don’t know if you’re a neighbor or a ninja trying to infiltrate our group for unknown reasons.

Do you currently live in or around Alpine? or are you interested in moving to Alpine, CA? If “around” Alpine, please add the community name.

We don’t ask for a copy of your exact address, driver’s license or a picture of your mail, but we do expect you to be honest. This is a community group, and we want to keep it as such. With that being said we know we have an extended community, lots of people further east like the communities of Descanso, to Boulevard and those to the west like Dulzura and Blossom Valley have lots of activities in Alpine, from shopping to sports. We wouldn’t want to leave you out.

• I will not promote or advertise in the group.
• I followed the link and added my business to the directory.

Would you like to receive periodic emails with event updates and local discounts and local activities and events? Either add your email or say no.

This is the most challenging question. Some people may think it is a trick question and if they don’t want to share their email they won’t be let in the group. While others say they want the newsletter, but think that Facebook will share the email with us -they don’t. You have to type in your actually email address for this to be successful, or of course, say no to the community news.

And the Bonus: Do you agree to the group rules from the admin?

To join as a business, you must have a paid directory listing on LovingLifeAlpine.com. Why?

What If I Was Rejected by Mistake?

It happens! If you think you were wrongfully denied, don’t worry. You can request to join again, and there will be no penalties, your profile doesn’t get blackballed or anything. We’re only trying to filter out the scammers—so if you’re a real person who just happened to get caught in the filter, we’ll be happy to get you in.

Still Have an Issue to Work Out?

If you aren’t sure why your request was kicked. Check Your Messages. We try to send a message through Facebook to give you a reason for the rejection.

If you identified the issue and can’t fix it, for example, if your account is less than a year old. You don’t have to wait for your anniversary date, but you have to coordinate with us, before you request to join again or you will get a repeat of the rejection. Just send us a message (or email if you prefer), and we can coordinate an override of the automatic process.
